BASCOM REUNION - SATURDAY JULY 26, 2025

To be held in Alstead, New Hampshire, at the Vilas Pool.

Our next triennial Bascom Reunion will be held on Saturday, July 26th at the park known as Vilas Pool, located in Alstead, NH.  This is the same location as our last reunion, and it is where the early reunions were held from 1949 through 1959.   Some photos from those early reunions can be seen here.

Our Bascom Reunion secretary is Phil Bascom.  If you or members of your family have moved, he may not have the correct mailing address.  If you would like information emailed, contact him directly: philbascom@gmail.com

Dear Bascom Family,

The Bascom Reunion Association is excited to invite you to the 25th triennial Bascom Reunion on Saturday July 26th at Vilas Pool in Alstead, NH. This will be an excellent time to reconnect with family from near and far. Vilas offers many activities including swimming (no life guard), horseshoe pits, volleyball, corn hole, and a beautiful pavilion. We are thankful they have agreed to host us again.

Lunch will again be catered by Charlestown House of Pizza. Options are either a full, delicious pasta dinner or individual chef salads. The cost for lunch is $10 per person ($6 per child). Please fill out the included lunch reservation form and send back to us before July 12 if you would like to purchase lunch. You are also welcome to bring your own picnic basket, or The Alstead General Store is only ¾ of a mile up the road with a full deli counter. The reunion association will be providing ice cream with real maple syrup in the afternoon for all.

There is a registration fee of $5.00 per person OR $10.00 per family (a family constitutes those living at the same address). You may either send this ahead of time or pay it at the reunion registration. Donations are always graciously accepted and helps us to continue this great event. Registration payment and donation checks may be sent before the reunion to Crystal Trimble, 55 Reed Rd. Athens, VT 05143 or may be processed via Paypal to: bascomreunion@yahoo.com.

A few things to consider this year.

  •              An online store will be set up for Bascom t-shirts and other "swag" items INSTEAD of selling them at the reunion. The link for the store will be added to the Bascom Reunion Facebook Page when it is ready.  Please contact JoAnna Arendarczyk (info below) if you don't have Facebook but wish to place and order.  The design this year is Brendan LaRock’s winning design from the 2022 reunion!

  •          The Bascom Reunion Design Contest submissions can be emailed to bascomreunionvicepresident@gmail.com or mailed to JoAnna Arendarczyk at 117 Stage Rd. Nottingham, NH 03290 by 7/12/25. The submissions will be voted on by attendees at the reunion on the 26th. This is your chance to show off your creative side and win the ultimate bragging rights!

  •          Memorial Table. Please bring a photo or memento to help us remember and honor our loved ones who have passed away since the last reunion.

  •          The silent auction is the main fundraiser for the association, so please bring a donation if you are able and come ready to bid.

  •          Bring your acoustic guitar, banjo, trumpet, or kazoo and serenade us with an informal jam session in the afternoon.

  •          New! The official Bascom Cane will be presented to the oldest male and female family members present at the reunion. Attend the reunion for more details!

  •          Sunday the 27th  Phil Bascom is organizing a trip to Fort at #4 in Charlestown. Stay tuned and see facebook.com/BascomReunion for more details

  •          Thank you to Crystal for her many years of service as out treasure. She has decided to step down from this position this year. If you are interested in being treasurer let us know and we will be voting in a new one at the business meeting.

  •          Volunteers are still needed to help with various things throughout the day! We appreciate your support and flexibility. Thanks!

     Genealogy

Brad Bascom will be back this year with his 14 generation wall chart of the Bascom genealogy showing all of the known descendants of the Bascom surname since the immigrant Thomas Bascom.  He will also have on display photos from many decades of prior reunions and photos of famous American Bascom landmarks.  Send an e-mail to Brad ahead of time if you would like assistance with family research. The latest genealogy can be found at www.BascomGenealogy.com, and Bascom stories are also shared on our page www.facebook.com/BascomReunion. Brad and Phil have recently documented Bascom ancestors who were patriots in the American Revolution, and will present information on how you too can become a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, or Daughters of the American Revolution (SAR, DAR).
